About me

My name is Marie-Therese Meye.

I am a PhD Candidate in Political Science at the University of Mannheim and the Graduate School of Economic and Social Sciences in Germany.

I study the dynamics of political violence in democracies with a particular focus on the role of politicians in these processes.  I also have an interest in the spatial dynamics of post-conflict violence and policing in post-conflict contexts. In my research, I combine quantitative methods for causal identification with observational and survey data, and fieldwork.

My work is published in the Journal of Peace Research, Peacebuilding, and The Palgrave Encyclopedia of Peace and Conflict Studies.
