Teaching, Learning, and Mentoring

Instructor of Record:

Protests in Authoritarian Regimes (Spring 2023, Fall 2024)
Election Violence (Spring 2024)
Introduction to International Relations (Fall 2023)
Causes of Intra-State Conflict (Fall 2022)
The best course this semester and one of the best ones I've ever had. I was especially happy with the feedback on the research proposals, since it was very helpful and extensive. The simulation game was also a great idea.

“I am more than satisfied with the course. The combination of discussing the literature, teaching new content and constantly finding new ways of dealing with the material was perfect in my view. It was very varied and I learned a lot of new things about a subject that I had shockingly little prior knowledge of. My interest is now so great that I could well imagine writing my Bachelor's thesis on the subject - thank you very much for that!”

“Marie was always very motivated and committed to getting us excited about the various phenomena surrounding protests. The teaching methods used (e.g. debates, simulation games, discussions on Perusall) were also very well chosen and encouraged a critical examination of the topic. A very successful seminar!”
